We are happy to support our staff’s commitment to give back, partnering with several great charities and organizations that enrich the communities where we live and work.
Ambassadors of Compassion (AOC)
AOC is a non-profit organization that introduces at-risk high school and junior high students to character development, career exploration and community. Universal Metro staff members have been volunteering with students since 2012. Through the AOC LIFE program, Labor, Influence, Forgiveness, and Experience, and UMI’s genuine investment, these students now have determination and a bright future. Current CEO, former President, David Triepke is currently on the AOC board. https://www.aoclife.org/
Hart Community Homes, Inc.
Hart Community Homes’s mission is “to promote the community integration of youth who have transitioned through the foster care system and to create services which expand their opportunities for personal freedom and choice.” Universal Metro’s CEO David Triepke has been on their board for many years as Vice President. UMI has hosted, chaired, and sponsored a golf fundraiser event through Monkey Business Cafe for 19 years. We have assisted the organization on their Monkey Business Cafe, which aims to provide quality catering while employing young men recently out of the foster care system. Hart and Monkey Business Cafe are very important to the city of Fullerton and Universal Metro. http://www.monkeybusinesscafe.org/hart.php
Youth Employment Services
“Our mission is to support the community by enabling Orange County youth and young adults to secure and maintain meaningful employment. We offer programs that help young people improve their self-esteem, employment, career choices, financial/personal self-sufficiency, and quality of life.” -YES Universal Metro has donated time, products, and funds to the Youth Employment Service of Southern California https://yesworks.org/
National Association of Women in Construction
At Camp NAWIC 2018, Universal Metro donated flooring for a tiny house to be built for the homeless. Lead Estimator Victoria went to volunteer with the girls during the construction and also talked how to pursue a career in construction management. She furthered their knowledge from her own experiences and discussed opportunities on how to build a future in this field. Victoria was also a 2-year NAWIC Scholarship recipient and is “grateful that it has opened the door for opportunities to volunteer with girls interested in construction”.
Chanje Movement
The UMI team is proud to sponsor a child through the Chanje Movement, whose mission is to, “bring a hope and a future to the children of Haiti through community transformation and revival.”
Free Wheelchair Mission
The UMI team is financially supporting the Free Wheelchair Mission, which serves individuals and communities in urgent need of wheelchairs and medical supplies.
Hope International
UMI supports those living in extreme poverty by being a part of the Hope International Mission. “To invest in the dreams of families in the world’s underserved communities as we proclaim and live the Gospel.”
